Grav is a flat-file content management system (CMS). It stores pages as files instead of in a database, so there’s no database to set up, back up or keep secure. That makes it easy to host on an ordinary shared hosting plan.
It does the same job as WordPress, Joomla or Drupal, with less to maintain. A basic installation is enough for a fast business website or blog, and themes, plugins and skeletons (ready-made starter sites) add more when you need it. People use it for simple websites, business sites, directories and blogs.
Grav is open source and was first released in July 2014. Documentation and downloads are at getgrav.org.
